Tower Bridge - In its full glory

Tower Bridge is one of the most prominent landmarks of London. No visit to London is complete without visiting Tower Bridge.

It is possible to make this visit even more exciting with a little bit of pre-planning. If you plan your visit during the time the bridge opens for ships to pass-through, you can witness and appreciate the engineering marvel of Tower Bridge.

Visit this page to find out the Bridge Lift times and plan your visit accordingly.

London - Princess Diana Memorial Playground

This is a hidden gem of London, especially if you are traveling with kids.

Just behind Kensington Palace which is on the map of most tourists, is this little park which kids and adults will enjoy.

The park has a big ship made of wood that kids can spend fun time with.

It is surrounded by small little gems of activities which will keep everyone entertained.

A little further from this garden are the round pond, kensington gardens and the Princess Diana memorial fountain.

In all, you can easily spend 1 hour in the garden itself and more than 3 hours in the entire area.

Highly recommended if traveling to London with children.

Here is the map of the garden -

London - Change of Guard ceremony

For anyone visiting London, Changing the Guard ceremony is one of the must-do activity on the list. This has resulted in this being the most crowded place in London during the ceremony time. It becomes so crowded that your view of the ceremony is similar to the one below.

There are however two alternatives to see the guards and the ceremony from very close and without all the crowd.

1.Make your way to Wellington Barracks, at the Buckingham Palace end of Birdcage Walk, for about 10:15.There you will see the New Guard forming up and being inspected, and then while they are waiting for their Regimental Colours the Band play a selection of music. At 10:57 the New Guard led by a Regimental Band will march out of Wellington Barracks, and turn left for Buckingham Palace.

Please check the timings and dates for the ceremony at the below link -

2. This option is less crowded but a little far from London. This is the best option available to view the ceremony, even better than the one at Buckingham Palace.

The Windsor castle in the west of London conducts the same ceremony where you can be very close to the guards and meet the guard up-close and personal.
